A word from Susan

Hi,

My name is Susan, I am a cake decorator in Geelong, working from my council registered home based kitchen.

​

As a young girl I became interested in baking. Over the years, the kitchen has become my preferred working space, my happy place.

​

I have spent most of my working life in kitchens, in various positions, in various places. My happy place is in a kitchen. Baking has become my passion.

​

After completing a floristry course 10 years ago, thinking this was the direction I was heading (as I love fresh flowers and bursts of colour), I made a 50th birthday cake for my very dear friend Mary, combining the cake and a fresh flower arrangement. From this my love of celebration cakes began.

​

As I make everything from scratch (this taught to me by my mother), quality and taste of the cake is most important to me. Sure it needs to look good, but taste is what we remember.

​

With my children living their independent lives, my weeks are spent devoting my time to creating celebration custom cakes, whilst always trying and testing new recipes. It gives me great pleasure to deliver a cake knowing I have used the best ingredients to give the best flavour.

I believe I have a selection of cakes of great flavour and quality.

​
